Barclays is collaborating with the government-backed Cyber Security Challenge UK to host an event intended at finding individuals who might be suitable for a career in cybersecurity.

The Masterclass Final which will take place in London this November is the apex of nationwide face-to-face competitions, designed to identify cyber talent.

Candidates will be tested through a series of simulating real-life cyber security situations and the challenges will assess their technical, business and soft skills.

By completing an online qualifying game, Brits of all ages can apply and secure an invitation for the face-to-face competition even if they do not currently hold a position in the cybersecurity field.

The chief security officer of Barclays, Tim McNulty, says: “The cyber landscape is constantly evolving, as can be seen with the growth of AI and machine learning.

“Traditional methods of cyber security defense need to develop too as cyber adversaries are deploying this technology and accelerating the scale, speed and complexity of their attacks.

Through this competition, Barclays is helping to provide a platform for the next generation of cyber enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills to serve a societal need and to develop promising careers under the stewardship of Barclays.”
